Praise Indeed

Just thought I would remind everyone of an independent Jaguar specialist who has very recently provided me with a truly excellent service on my 1987 Jaguar Sovereign - WYN THOMAS JAGUAR SERVICING from Epping.

I inherited my Jaguar from an aged relative, a car I now call "The Empress" with only 16,123 on the clock, with a full Jaguar Main Agent Service History, although I hate to add, not an exemplary level of service. The car suffered from not being used enough but now, after quite a bit of TLC from Wyn Thomas Jaguar Servicing, Epping, is now fine.

I had been having one or two problems with The Empress, mainly concerning the ignition/fuel set up and braking system. The tickover was rough and erratic. The brakes had been bled by Jaguar but no one had noticed the obvious such as the low brake pressure warning light that kept coming on and the brake pedal that seemed to go rather low etc. Jaguar bled the brakes every year for several years, the cat got is MOT but the problem was never diagnosed and cured by the dealer. The air conditioning system was running on the now illegal R12 system and all the quotes I was getting locally to upgrade to R134A seemed steep to say the least. Over to Wyn Thomas Jaguar Servicing.

Wyn is based very close to Epping Forest tube station so is conveniently located, even from someone like me who resides 100 miles away.

I chose Wyn from a length search on the internet and both Wyn and his fellow director and ace mechanic Michael Ferrari always had time to discuss the issues, gave me coffee and ran me back to the Epping tube station, (my choice a Jaguar loan car was also available free of charge!).

The brake problem that was causing me so many heartaches was diagnosed as if it was a matter of course, the master cylinder being the culprit. The tickover a problem rapidly sorted thanks to having the proper Jaguar diagnostic facilities, and the air con conversion to R134A and fix was also going to be sorted out.

I expected a "chunky" bill, however the air con ended up 50% of the other quotes I received and even the oil was charged out to me at discount price. It's not often that I wax lyrical about a garage but my Jaguar is certainly going back to Wyn Thomas Jaguar Servicing for anything I can't handle locally. A 200 mile round trip for this quality of service and value for money is even almost a pleasure.
